I added a new Manuscripts page up top, which will take you to the pages for the first two chapters of Back To Me and Not In the Plans. 

As suggested, I have flipped the first two chapters of Not In the Plans so that Jackson’s chapter leads Savvy’s chapter.  I’ve read a lot of blogs and articles about whether a writer should post any portion of a manuscript they’d like to have published.  Clearly, I chose to take the what-the-heck approach. 

Now I have to say posting the chapters was a smart move.  No one in either critique group that read Not In the Plans suggested I flip the chapters.  One group simply came to the general consensus that I abandon the manuscript because Savvy was unlikeable.  It wasn’t until I posted it here that I received roughly a dozen messages via Twitter, Facebook and the comments section here suggesting that I let Jackson’s chapter come first.  Everyone seemed to agree that if the reader met Savvy through Jackson’s eyes first, then she wasn’t so loathsome in her chapter. 

So, thank you to everyone who weighed in on Not In the Plans.  I had abandoned this manuscript over six months ago, but now I want to finish it.  My post on Not In the Plans a couple of days ago resulted in over 500 unique visitors to the site that day, thanks in part to Inside the Book and a couple of my Twitter followers.  To my surprise, it was males who follow me on Twitter and read my It’s a Swing and a Miss blog who made the most comments and drove the most traffic to the Not In the Plans posts.  So, thank you guys for supporting all my ventures, even the non-sports related ones!
